Do You Love What You Do?

As we continue to look at some key questions from the October 6 entry, let’s address "loving what you do."

Do you love what you do is a very penetrating question.  There have been times in my life where the answer was an emphatic no.  Most have been and are there.  Its wise to be balanced in your assessment of the question.  For example, avoid the extremes of quick emotional decisions that came out of some momentary circumstance.  Time is a good friend in revealing whether we’re in the wrong place.  Let time have the opportunity to teach you.

Loving what you do is part of a successful life.  If we are participating in things that make us "come alive," then we are on our way to being fully alive.  Additionally, we will impact our relationships (family, friends and co-workers) more positively.  If you’re in an environment where people don’t love what they do, then your living in the land of the "working dead."  Consequently, loving what you do is an essential key in becoming and staying a success.

If you’re not sure (or are afraid of) what you love, then start by making a list of what makes you smile…what makes you come alive.  This will provide you with a map of where you should go.  Have the courage to pursue what you were meant to be.

The world needs more people who love what they do.
